Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam movie

  Just watched the Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam movie, its pretty good. Funny that they came up with their group name while having pizza at Kellogg's Diner in Williamsburg. Ate there a bunch in the eary 2000s, I had DJ nights in a couple bars that was near that spot on Meeker -- BQE Lounge, Boulevard Tavern. Fucking love Freestyle, it inhabits the same bpms and breakrolls as Electro that are so easy to mix into. Mostly they use the same equipment back then too create them. So many times Lisa Lisa tracks save my dancefloor from dying. Lifetime has been churning movies like this, it's mostly cheezy but I'll take it, saw a Gloria Gaynor movie listed, gotta check it out

Last day at Almost ready records

  NYC Marathon has closed lots of roads today for the marathon. Spike lee watching the race in my neighborhood in Clinton Hill. We gained an hour last night for Winter time change. Also the Last day at the record store today, coinciding with no buses headed there as the #nycmarathon is on until 4pm. Almost Ready Records-Brooklyn location is closing for good after 10 amazing years. Everything is moving to the Montclair, NJ store.
