Book signing with Lorraine Cink

Midtown Comics is celebrating Women's History month by hosting all this comic meet and greets with femake artist, writers and illustrators. Lorraine Cink, host of Marvel's Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Marvel's Watcher on youtube show, wrote a book called Powers of a Girl, a book celebrating women superheroes in the Marvel Universe. I love the book, Alice X Zhang's art for every character is beautiful, and every character's storyline is inspirational to lots of female comic fans. This is good for new fans dwelving into comic books, especially little girls, with morals to look up to. Alot of male comic book readers was quick to shoot this down, as it didnt include the definitive Woman heroes that everyone grew up with like say, every woman in Xmen like Storm, Jean Grae, or some of the other ladies from the Avengers. I see this more as a marketing tool put out by Disney Publishing to kind of focus on some of their acquired titles for young readers  and also to get a newer younger fanbase for superheroes. So its not as if Ms Cink didnt know much, but I think she is limited with what she can write about, and not having said anything about Xmen could also be because the Disney acquisition of Xmen, which was previously owned by Fox films hasnt closed, so they were careful to not get sued, eventhough its all under Marvel comics.
