50th revolutions around the sun

Thank you for the Bday love, my 50th revolution around the sun is complete. I've known most of you for over 30 years through punk rock music as Rop, most dont know I was born as Robert Jack, this guy in the picture, Jason Aromin, teased me that name in high school and it stuck. Coming to America fresh off the boat, I couldn't say Rob properly, sounded like Rop, and I just went with it. So glad that I got to see Jason before the pandemic happened, I havent seen him since the 80s. Him and his cousin, Jeff (R.I.P.) were my best friends growing up. We went to so many shows, since Jason got his license at 16. We ditched class so much to meet heroes like Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) and Love and Rockets, David Sylvian from Japan, Andy Prieboy (Wall of Voodoo), The Church, Siouxsie, The Cure. He drove us to LA to buy records and also get bootleg live concerts cassettes from this guy off Sunset Blvd, we drove to LA to see The Mission UK on a spur one time at the Palladium, where Robert Smith joined the band and did a cover of In-between Days. Just sharing, so many amazing memories besides the name that stuck forever. I love you all, everybody, be nice to one another. @jayizzo50
