Every year around May, during Asian-American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month, this movie makes its round on stream sites and cable TV. It came out 22 years ago, and was bought by MTV/Paramount. My band Semiautomatic has about a dozen songs in the soundtrack (we worked on it since before 9/11/01, and was stalled until 2003) This is actor John Cho (Harold from Harold and Kumar go to White Castle) debut movie. And if you are familiar with The Fast and Furious movie series, this is character Han Lue (played by actor Sung Kang) plot arc beginnings, in high school. The director of this movie also directed a couple of Fast and Furious movies.
