Joy Division Komakino/Incubation find story

  

After celebrating NYE 1999 in Sheffield stadium in England, we stayed a couple days w/ David Feck and Rachel (Comet Gain) in West Croydon. One day, he took me somewhere near Piccadilly Circus at a small flea market, to find this Jamaican dude to get weed, but he wasn't around. We ended getting wormwood to smoke (the stuff they make absinthe with) from some guy, who had  a small stack of records, and I ended up buying this Joy Division - Atmosphere 12" for 2 pounds, the record sleeve was beat up. I packed it up with all the other records I got for free from Rachel, she worked at the used section of Rough Trade, she hooked me up. Only when I got back to Brooklyn a week later that I saw inside that Joy Division 12" record was an original Komakino/Incubation Flexi. Total mindblown+super-duper score! Best way to enter the year 2000! Danngg, 21 years ago.

38 years ago today, New Order released one of the greatest albums in music. Leave Me Alone and Age of Consent, 2 of the 1st songs I learned on the bass at 14. Such a big step up from their debut, more synthesizers and more Poppy. Your Silent Face is so beautiful. 586, Ecstacy and The Village! Great record!!
