Tears for Fears Songs from the Big Chair LP

Summer of '85, Nino and I go over to our neighbor Jovitt's house, he was older than us. His Mom just came back from America, and he was showing off that Shout 12" and the Mother's Talk 12" remix, he was boasting that he was the 1st one in the Philippines to have it. Every month he'd have a relative bring him a bag of new wave 12" remixes or releases from the latest bands from either the US or UK, we really didn't care of the logistics of why/how, just happy that Jovitt would dub it to cassette for us, he didn't do it for anyone w/o money involved or not at all. I knew lots of Mobile DJ crews would beg to rent any records off him for a party. I loved hanging at his room looking at record covers. That summer was good, we tagged along Jovitt guest DJ'ing New Wave parties with his hot records, until the beginning of the school year, a group of older kids from my high school went to those parties and started talking shit and I told Jovitt and he came over from his HS over the hill and crashed the gate into my HS and slapped one of those kids, I got in trouble from the nuns, and my parents told me I can't hang out with Jovitt anymore.
FACT: Espadrille shoes became a major big fad in the Philippines because of Tears For Fears. 'Til this day, I can't see Espadrilles in show stores without thinking about TFF. Sometimes I see those Tom's shoes that look like Espadrilles and think TFF
